I often Teach Google Adwords Classes, So I use this "Cheat Sheet" as an outline for the training.  It's really just a list of concepts that new adwords account owners should understand.



Keyword Match Types (4+1):
Broad Match (Avoid using)

“Phrase Match”
[Exact Match]
Negative

Adwords Hierarchy:
Account- All you do here is set up payment and Time Zone
Campaign- Most of your settings such as target area, device, and schedule are contained here.
Ad Group- You want lots of these!
Keyword(s)

Tools and Reports Menu:
Tools- Ad Preview and Diagnosis (Tells you if ad is running)
Reports-Predefined Reports- Basic- Search Terms Report (Finds negative Keywords)
Reports-Predefined Reports-Geographic (Where impressions and clicks are viewed or originate)

Important Concepts:
Always Responsive Search Ads or "Call Only" Ads
Understand Quality Score and Relevance

Keywords should be in ad and landing page
Never let Google make a decision
